Stay away from this product!!, 17 March 2008

I have used Auction Sentry for years and loved it. Over night, it has become THE WORST PROGRAM I HAVE EVER USED. After the infamous update, it was a nightmare to register (I wonder how many people lost auctions?) and tonight when I deleted an item it kept reappearing and other auctions disappeared alltogether! I didn't know it was owned by Auctiva and I'm surprised. I use Auctiva to list and I love it. How can a product go from being first class second to none to a complete nightmare?? I uninstalled it for fear of a security breech, that's how bad it is. Looking for another program. I wish the former owner would start another company. If you're reading this Dan, email me when you do!

The destruction of a once very good program, 10 March 2008

After using Auction Sentry Deluxe for 3 years with virtually no problems, or if any they were remedied in short order, I've witnessed it going from great software to incredibly bad software. All it took was new ownership Auctiva , and a new version that was forced upon it's users. After 5 updates on that version and it still is far from working.

Users who paid for license renewals have watched their software expire. It is claimed that it's sending information back to Auctiva. They created a forum that is to say the least a joke, moderated by arrogance, belittling posters who complain, and if the complaint is worded to their disliking they simply remove the post and in some cases banish the poster from the forum.

Unless there is a drastic change made in this software and their attitude towards their users I recommend staying away from this product 100%.

New Ownership and Going Down Hill Fast, 4 March 2008

The old product was excellent. In my opinion a true 5 star sniper. The company has changed hands and the new owners have announced that they are discontinuing the promised lifetime support for the suddenly discontinued base product, and have forced a new, so far, completly FUBAR version on those with a paid up subscription to the premium Auction Sentry Deluxe. Their forums are full of complaints from unhappy customers. They admit that the program has problems but that keep paid up users from opening the program, but they keep pushing people to switch to the broken version. Hopefully they will get their act together be in the meantime I'm searching for a replacement.

Not so easy to use, 31 December 2007

I tried this software today. It does not look too easy to use overall.

Pros: light software, does not take much resources. easy installation.

Cons: forces you to use IE which is bad. I love my Firefox! IE has some security issues and I don't want to use it for eBay. Even if it forces to use IE then I can not use its features anyway -- no tabs, for example.
Proxy settings does not work really - I have to setup the same proxy in 2 places to match (software and control panel).
Error messages make no sense, you have to figure out yourself what's really wrong.
Sniping window is a little confusing from the first time of use.

EVry easy to learn and use. Sniping time settings very accurate thru periodic resynchronizing PC time to ebay time.

It would get 5 stars if it had interface to paypal, and could automate paying.
