Fantastic Software - but NO Support of any kind and AuctionSplash Pro doesn't even exist, 2 April 2008

Reviewer: klraver Junior Member

I had no trouble installing and the features it offers are fantastic. It's hard to tell for sure what all would be added if you signed up for the PRO version at $15 a month, but it's a moot point since it doesn't seem to exist anyway.

For tech support you are supposed to post your questions to the Forum, but nobody's answering any questions posted to the forum and haven't been for the last several months - they just sit there unanswered - not a good sign for us users. The scheduler has stopped working, but there is no one to tell me why - and several pages on the website just go to web page not found.

I hate to say it, but I don't think anyone is out there for this one anymore and it's too bad. This was top notch software. I actually thought I found something to work with, now I'm on the hunt again!

As a previous reviewer says this takes an absolute age to install. After waiting an age it didn't work and I had trouble uninstaling it. Absolute waste of time- ****.

Don't think of this as free software: it's certainly intrusive and offers no future guarantees, 21 March 2008

There are some things you should know about AuctionSplash at the outset, in order to make an informed choice.

The main thing to explain is that although this software claims to be "Free", you shouldn't in any sense confuse it with open-source software... one of the many license agreements you've got to sign-up to says that the company reserves the right to charge for the software at a later date, or possibly to reduce your service level.

After your installation, you'll find the main screen has a huge banner with distracting, moving and flashing advertisements and at that time you'll find there is a paid service, which perhaps will get rid of it.

AuctionSplash downloads and installs in many parts. As well as that, you will be downloading and installing MS .NET Framework as part of the deal and a plug-in for FireFox to make it .NET-enabled. I have installed copies of Windows itself quicker than AuctionSplash. The installation system justifies their technology by saying that it allows them to give you auto-updates: hmm, for their benefit or ours? I wonder.

From registration on the AuctionSplash web site onwards, you're demanded several times to enter your e-bay user ID. I'm not at all sure why this is required: I entered a false User ID each time until the point I had to add a user to the application, and it did me no harm. The application screen itself says that your e-bay password is stored only on your local machine but for me, the kind of intrusive nature of the program gave me cause to doubt it.

Oh, and it seems they will send me their regular e-mail as well... there may possibly be an opportunity to opt-out later but it certainly wasn't an opt-in system.

There are lots of fabulous reviews on this site about the program functionality itself: I have no comment to offer, because at the point of the flashing advert banner I'd finally had enough and uninstalled it (partly manually, because their uninstaller doesn't do the job properly itself).

Brilliant free software, 17 May 2007

Reviewer: Simon Junior Member

I have just had my third auction using Auctionsplash. Its very simple to setup and easy to learn to use. It allows me to produce some fantastic auctions, which I am convinced gets me more money for my listed items.

Auctionsplash runs on my desktop and all the information on my watch lists and bids comes automatically back to me without me having to log in and out of Ebay. It save me huge amount of time.

You create auctions using the ‘Create Listing’ tool that allows you to see the auction layout before you post it up to Ebay. They host all my pictures free of charge in supersize and have loads of cool templates, also free. My favourite is the black ‘Stars’ template.

There are four very cool things about Auctionsplash

It’s FREE and very easy to use.

It has a ‘Stats’ tool that shows you the best time to finish your auctions.

Its got ‘schedule listing’ tool that allows you to launch as many auctions as you like, on the day and at the time you want so that they finish at peak times.

It’s written by a small British company. All the other software seems to be American.

Excellent ideal for bulk sellers and casual ebayers alike, 16 May 2007

Reviewer: flack6434 Junior Member

I tend to list large amounts of items at once and AuctionSplash is a fantastic tool which suits my purpose ideally. The ability to extablish a listing on one page is a real bonus as is the attaching of moe than one photograph without additional cost as per the traditional ebay listing process. The templates are a real bonus also. Managing the selling activity is a breeze as is the feedback process plus all other aspects. The selling statistics is a great tool which details what searches have found your items and when they're being looked at. Great for any repeat items. I would thoroughly recommend this tool to anyone who uses ebay whether they're clearing the loft / cupboards of items or a major seller.
