Rude support, no SSL, 20 March 2008

Their support is rude often, you can read their forum to realize that.
Sometimes they blame bugs on users, sometime they accept it but do not fix it.
And most important -- no SSL, just promises...

I used it for a while, and while it worked most of the time, esteal failed to submit several of my snipes (Murphy's law: this usually happened for the items I wanted the most).

I also second another reviewer's note that SSL is not supported by esteal. They said they would implement it last summer, but nothing happened.

Free, but flawed, 19 November 2006

Used it 5 times or so - out of 5 times, won twice, lost twice, and service failed to submit my bid once (winner had a much lower bid than what I was ready to pay). This is 20% failure rate in my case.

Another big problem I have with esteal is lack of secure connection (SSL). This means that your ebay username & password is going over the net as plain text. Scary.

I guess you get what you pay for - it's free, but flawed.

Excellent service for a zero price, 22 February 2006

I have joined esteal recently coming from the link on this auctionsoftwarereview.com page during 2 months, nothing to say against! It's excellent free service comparing to the other paid services. I like it's simple & intuitive interface, and in general, I like that esteal really makes what I want - bids automatically on eBay in time and with no breaks. Their staff is always online, and new improvements, fixes & features are coming up every week. I already won 50+ items using it - and I doubt I will change my mind choosin' another sniping service.

It may have been a decent service once, but I didn't even bother trying it out. Go to the beta forum to see why: several users complaining that the service doesn't work.

Also there is no mention on the eSteal web site that it is affiliated to InkFrog. In fact there is no mention whatsoever that I could find as to who is behind this service suspicious.

Just doesn't sound worth the hassle or the risk.
