Gixen is reliable and awesome (safe too), 24 May 2010

I have been with Gixen for about a year now. Other auction snipers would mess up my Ebay account and these other auction snipers had me running scared. With some of the biggest names in Ebay auction snipers, I would receive emails that my sniper account had been compromised, password stolen and shared with others. There are enough problems with other things in life and my sniper needed to be reliable. My time is short to complete my daily tasks, so this is a big sacrifice to write this review, but Gixen is the answer to "Peace of Mind". I can not sit by the computer 24/7 and needed reliability, and accidentally stumbled across Gixen. What a miracle it is, because it has not messed up my account or let me down with my wins. Gixen wins my auctions and it bids 6 seconds out. For 6 bucks a year, Gixen can't be beat!! Regards, John

Excellent Program- Highly Recommended, 5 May 2010

I have been an eBay member since 1999, with a feedback rating of over 4200 (all purchases), so I definitely utilize eBay and snipe services a lot. For many years, I used Bidsniper through vrane.com, before stumbling across Gixen. As far as I can recall, it does everything that the other program did, with a lot fewer errors, and at a fraction of the price. I subscribe to the mirror service at $6.00/year, just for peace of mind and because that price is still dirt cheap compared to all the other services I have seen.

Gixen ebay login and password, 4 April 2010
Reviewer:

hi, i am looking for a snipe service and found Gixen. there are possitive and negative reviews on this site so i was apprehensive. after looking around, i thought i would give it a try. on Gixen's home page there are no links to sign up for the service, only blanks to enter you EBAY LOGIN and PASSWORD. whoa, this slowed me down. but apparently the owner of Gixen has been on this site leaving posts so i thought i would try it. the worst that might happen is i would change my ebay password. so i typed in my login and password and guess what...it didn't go anywhere...the next page said "Cookies are disabled in your browser. Gixen requires cookies in order to store session id after you log in. Please enable cookies (or add Gixen to the list of sites for which they are accepted) in your browser and sign in again."
COOKIES ARE NOT DISABLED IN MY BROWSER. in fact, i have never gotten a cookie message from any web site.
if anyone knows that i have made a mistake, please let me know. i do not want to hurt Gixen if they are legit but it is scary what happened to me. i have changed my ebay password because of this, thanks!

cookies problem,

soundtroll, note that this is quite an unusual and rare problem, and probably caused by a bad browser. If you try a different browser you will most likely log in without any problems. Make sure that your system time is correct, this also matters.
The reason for using cookies is to store a session id, instead of having it as "GET" variable as was previously the case, which was a security issue (see http://www.gixen.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1700&highlight=session to understand why cookies were introduced).
However, since cookies were introduced, some users occasionally (though rare) get this problem.
There was no need to be concerned about security of your ebay account, more than 140,000 users have used Gixen so far, and no account has ever been compromised.
Mario Vodopivec, Gixen.

Looking good
website is fast
bids landing.
$6 per year for a mirror server (extra backup bids on the same item) and some extra features like adjust bid time.
FREE version is great for a free software. And has practically all the features
I was using goofbay sniper but it fell asleep a few times.
Also good support forum
I’ll write back it all goes to ***** :)

The best I've used so far, 2 August 2009

Always concerned about anything that is free, but I must say this is one sniper service that works very well and actually delivers the bid on time. I used at least 6 major paid auction sniper services previously (for over 10 years) and found that they would always bid way early, like 20-30 seconds, when you set it at 3-6 seconds, or completely missed the bid. Emailed them to find out what the problem was, and always some lame excuse. The older/larger the service, I think the worse they bid. Sometimes it seemed that some of these services intentionally bid early to drive up the bid activity. The ideally sniper service, you should be able to set it and forget it. Saves you a lot of time.
As I said I am leery of anything that is free, but with Gixen I was pleasantly surprised that it was simple and delivered the bids on time. I can't remember a snipe that was not placed and all bids were +/-2 seconds of scheduled. I initially used the free service, and when I found it worked well I ended up adding their mirror site, just for piece of mine. I used Gixen a little over 1year and have had NO compromise of privacy and NO advertisement banners or emails. When's the last time you've seen that at a site. Gets my rare 5 star approval.
