Impressive Solution For Book Sellers, 17 October 2005

Indaba has been created from the ground-up for book sellers, although it can work for sellers of other catalogue products, such as CDs, DVDs and video games.

It has been a long time in development, and the participation of Amazon and Half seller Better World Books shows in its streamlined workflow, which is all about processing inventory, orders, and customer service requests efficiently.

Site support is extensive, including six international Amazon sites, Half, Abebooks, eBay Stores and Prostores, Barnes & Noble, Froogle and more. Support for eBay auctions (which is less important than Stores for booksellers) is planned for the first post-launch update.

Inventory is well taken care of, with quick adding by barcode (ISBN or UPC), or product identification by automatically searching current web sales on Amazon, Abebooks, and Alibris.

Indaba is a well thought out application that covers all the essential functions needed by online book sellers. Only support for independant eCommerce stores would improve it.
