Can not upload listings to ebay., 7 February 2008

Have used this software for about a year. Like the software, but support is not good. Seems with all the changes going on the ebay, the software can not be updated to do the job, or they do not know how to change the software to make it work. Nice price but if does not work not much good. Will be looking for workable software.

I have been selling on ebay since June of 1998. I'm a former user of Auction Assistant. I was spoiled since it's original inception. Once gone I am now on a quest to find something similar. For Kauction you see reviews saying how easy it is and nice tech support. What you don't see is the never ending problems we have had with it. I say we because I have talked to several other website developers and they are of the same opinion. Constant problems such as when trying to list an item the program stops leaving you in a lurch, after reloading or re submitting you get the same thing. If you do manage to get to the submit page things you entered are missing. Also after posting an item when you try to list another it may or may not go through... if it does you end up with the same item number as the previous listing. Ebay shows you have listed the item but it is not there. The item number is of the previous listing. Until these simple bugs are got to it's more of a pain than it's worth. I like the idea of 1 time cost with free updates. But if the updates don't address the problems listed here what's the point? If you look at the forum you will see that many of the problems listed here come from other users as well.

The creator has thought of everything. Unfortunately, I am a "visual" person and find the format very overwhelming and confusing. I think if the presentation was different, Kauction's rating would go off the chart. I just cannot get used to it and am not comfortable with it.

Excellent software - friendly support - no item specifics support, 8 October 2004

This package does everything imaginable for an eBay seller EXCEPT provide an interface for 'item specifics'! kAuction maintains your inventory for you, adjusting accordingly when listing and selling items. It provides an interface for uploading pictures to your own web space as well as recommendations for inexpensive file-and-image-hosting services. The HTML ad creation is limited to changing the colors and text sizes of the various sections and borders, but is still remarkably flexible.

One of the few auction packages that still does NOT use the eBay API, auction submission is still VERY quick and easy. kAuction offers auction tracking pre-formatted, customizable e-mails, invoices, and receipts automated feedback etc.

Except for a plethora of 'script errors' in the browser window, and the lack of support for 'item specifics', this package would rate a FIVE STAR rating! I've only recently (after more than a year of using this package) begun to try a different package.

Updates are free forever, making this one of the least expensive packages available.

Poor Support Mars Nice Product, 1 July 2004

When I downloaded kAuction, I thought I had found just the right software for my needs. It's built atop an Access database, and the developer claims to know how to build such databases - while claiming that all the other auction software developers don't. Boasts like that are fine if they have any merit.

kAuction's inventory system seems quite robust and forces you to catalog items before you're able to list auctions for them. That seems logical.

Such rigor, however, comes at the cost of flexibility and customization. For example, you can't print invoices for more than seven items. If you sell more than seven items to the same customer, you must prepare and print two separate invoices. That's a very big drawback.

But, unfortunately, I didn't get much further because the developer hasn't replied to my questions. Every other auction software company got back to me with good answers within a few hours. After 24 hours had gone by, I sent a reminder to the kAuction guy, asking him...
