system is too complicated and SUPER SLOW, not worth to try it, 22 May 2008
Reviewer:

Although this system looks very powerful, it still not worth to use it comparing so many time I have had spent to learn this program and it's not working properly at end. ****........ Compared to channeladvisor, this program is too slow and too complicated. It's not user friendly at all. PLUS, their sales person suggests you to take $499 training course if you have any set up problem, what is this????????? Left message on their toll free numbe (877.668.2655), NEVER NEVER return any of my call. EXTREMELY disappointed of their service. DON"T waste your time on this system. NOT recommend at all, I have had enough and decide to look for other similar software.

Hard to use/setup but worth it!, 17 November 2007

I've been with MW for about 6 months. The 1st 2 months were horrible The trasistion period cost me some money because of the high learning curve. Once that was over with everything is running smoothly. The listings are fully cusomizable with preset macros so you can give your listings a much more info rich look with out spending hours at a time on coding. The post sale management could a bit simpler but it works well with Shipworks. The storefront has many features but is very hard to customize on your own and if you don't know HTML coding forget it. Pricing is a bit steep but if you are a mid-high volume seller it shouldn't be a problem.

Good auction management, store is very cheesy, not very flexible, 5 April 2007

I've used them for many months. Their product works fairly well. Auction launch time may not be what you scheduled due to their system being slow. System is slow in general, sometimes very slow.
The system is very hard to learn and navigate. Cumbersome at times to do anything out of the basic. Not very innovative in this department - brute force all the way. It is also not very flexible. One size fts all!
Polite customer support.
Their store is very hard to learn and your store looks naked after being finished, has little end user appeal.

Not worth the pain, 13 October 2006

We have been using this product for a year. The tools are very cool WHEN they work. We were excited in the beginning and learned everything they could and paid them a ton of money for a graphics package which was not worth it at all. From day 1 it has been a nightmare. When the tools worked they enabled us to grow the business. But each time something went wrong it created more of a problem since the business was bigger. Telling a customer we cannot combine your invoice cause the system is not available just does not fly. Numerous checkout issues with buyers and multiple API issues with both ebay and Paypal. And MW is always blaming someone else for their problems.
The management is incompetent and has poor communication with their customers. During major issues (at least 4 to 5 in the year) we received 1 communication from the company and 1 form of compensation in the form of a free list day. The problems have costed me much more than a day. I have probably given free shipping to over 200 people due to the errors of MW.

An Excellent Choice For Ebay Businesses, 31 May 2006
Reviewer:

I am still in the beginning stages of using Marketworks but I am very impressed with what they have to offer. It is true that their system is complex, but it is something that can be learned and will allow for more time in the future. I think that this auction solution is for the serious eBayer. If you want to grow your business or pull it all together into one solution this is it. They offer integration with many outside solution (excel, etc.) and they offer a store front with your own www.com(unlike some of the others). I think this solution will work for small time sellers that have the intention of growing and although you can use as many or as little features that you choose I don't know that this is for the PT seller (my opinion).
I gave it 4 stars because I think the navigation of the system and custom terms that they use can be confusing, but as I said earlier, it can be learned. They are currently tweaking their system so we shall see what changes that will bring.
UPDATE: I just wanted to say that I LOVE Marketworks 5 Stars. I think that they have it all and their new interface is much easier to navigate. It still takes time to set up your specifications, but it is worth it, because you can customize and streamline your business. They have also implemented many new help features for the new user. I would recommend them as an ecommerce and auction solution.
