It works great for me. I was able to snipe many auctions. I lost the ones where my snipe was too low but that's just someone is paying too much :)
I have AVG 8.0.173 installed and never experienced any problems. Maybe you need an update guys?

Warning from AVG, 3 November 2008

I also use AVG, and I got the same message as saron, and I downloaded it from myibay site (what the heck are warez forums?).

This started happening after a recent AVG signature database update. Before that it was fine. I trust that myibay software is OK, and that this is a false positive, however if I were myibay, I would install AVG and check why this is happening. It would be a shame that this drives away users from such a useful service.

You probably know that downloading almost any software from illegal Warez forums will get a virus to your PC.
So you have to download the software from myibay.com official website ONLY, this is the only way to get a clean software.
You can't just get a software from Warez forums and compain here.

As a matter of fact, getting any kind of software from Warez forums is not a good idea as you don't support developers and get problems for your PC as most of the software from Warez forums is infected with all kinds of viruses.

Additionally, here are reports from two big online virus scaners which found nothing in the software (feel free to compare MD5 checksum to make sure I did not fake it):

Myibay software contains a logger!, 24 October 2008

This morning I got a warning from AVG antivirus that myibay.exe (standalone sniper) contains a virus (Logger.FNY).

I scanned the entire drive immediately and this is the only threat found, so I don't think it was infected by some other software.

I removed it from my drive and will not use again.

I was using Auctionsniper.com for a long time, but i was very unpleased by their 'time-corrections' 'feature'.
Auctionsniper tries to estimate how long it will take to place a bid according to ebay server traffic.
This did not work for me! I had my bids placed several times way too early, corrected by this sh..... system resulting in lost auctions. I did set the snipe to 3 sec before the end of an auction but my bids were placed somewhere between 20 and 40 seconds early!
And they even charge for that!
And it looks like ****!

Then i tried myibay... what a difference !!!
Myibay.com sniped absolutely reliable exactly 1 second before the set time resulting in 4 seconds before the end of an auction when set to 3 second before the end of an auction, at least in my cases. I can live with that!!!
It is a free - the webmaster states donations are appreciated - service that worked and works perfect for me, has many useful tools like an ebay watchlist importer aso. plus toolbar sniping, bidgroops and localization for many international ebay sites.
And it even looks great with its blueish, stylish interface just log in with your ebay ID and password
and you are there!
