Prospector has everything a serious auction buyers requires. Integrated server sniping, 1 click, speedy auction searches, user friendly layout, more search options than you can poke a stick to really eliminate the trash from the treasure efficiently which leaves you more time to make more money. The program pays for itself in no time at all (within 1 week for myself). It has no peer!

Super product support, this is an author with an open ear and they really stands behind this software. User friendly and intuitive interface gets you up and running quickly. It follows the Microsoft model, so if you use Word or Excel (and who doesn’t) you will be pleased. Single and group bids are always accurately placed via an internet server and not from you desktop, so can bid while your computer is off. Searches are saved in a tree format and can be repeated and updated right from your desktop! Unlike eBay, placing items on your watch list is a breeze and with business like customizable views. You can even import your “My eBay” items!

For us Prospector is a valuable tool and this author is so confident that he produces a freeware version, so try it and then buy it, we need to support software providers like this one!

Sadly there is no exporting of the completed auctions in Prospector to Excel so that you can track cost or keep transaction history. It would be helpful if Prospector had a section that would manage auctions (IE, item received, item paid, seller's info). Perhaps in future versions?

Prospector for eBay is the best software investment I've ever made!, 18 December 2005

The bid "snipe" feature is absolutely amazing! The trial download won 3 auctions for me within the first 20 minutes of using. Just could not believe how easy it was to place multiple unattended bids on Ebay just as auctions ended. If you bid professionally or are a collector or just an occasional Ebay shopper, Prospector eliminates the stress of hanging around an auction to drop your bid at the last moment. Pre-programmable bidding options let you enter a maximum bid and choose how many seconds before auction ends to automatically blace your bid. It's absolutely foolproof! Bid while you sleep or work. Bid with your computer off! Prospectors own server monitors your auctions and bids when you tell it. I just started working with Prospector search features and it's far more comprehensive than built in eBay site search.

Excelent tool for sniping!, 10 September 2005

I love to bid on Ebay. So far I have bought but not sold anything on Ebay. I was losing out on a lot of bids because I would bid early and then be outbid at the last second. Thats when I realized that my competition was using sniping programs. I looked into a lot of them but liked PROSPECTOR the best. There are several things I like about this program. First, it was a flat fee and not a % of the item won. Second, it was server based so I didn't have to keep my PC on all the time(keeps my wife awake at night). Third, best of all, it has a bid group that allows the bidder to group bids of the same item so that when a bid is successful, the remaining bids are cancelled. This is a great feature allowing you to make bids on similar items so that you get at least one win without ending up with all the items. I used to be really frustrated when I had to log on to my PC and wait for each item to come due, then if I lost, to submit another bid. With group bidding I can bid on 5 different hard drives and forget about it. When I win one of the 5, the remaining are cancelled. Great product. It has save me a lot of grief.
