Most of the reviews here are correct, no SEO, very basic templates, bad back end, etc, which is true.
Prostore's one saving grace is that it can sync with eBay, so if you're using a desktop solution or one of eBay's selling tools, theoretically, you can dynamically sync your ebay listings with your prostores web front, keeping inventory levels matched. Unfortunately, owing to persistent bugs in the system not all the listings get imported and there's no way to tell which get imported and which don't from the back office. The support staff are aware of the problem and recommend resisting the item on ebay to get it to sync, which costs money.
If you're in between service providers or you normal ecommerce platform is down, prostores is cheap and quick to set up so it might work as a stop gap measure for a day or two, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than an emergency.

I tried for over 3 months to work with ProStores and did not get one single order. In the meantime, I got over 200 orders on ebay and other sites. ProStores has no SEO set up at all so your store just sits there with no traffic. My average visitor count was 3 people per day. I spent more than 40 hours online with Prostores doing everything they told me to increase traffic and sales with no results at all. The system was constantly breaking down causing me even more time online with them trying to fix it. I ended up spending way too much time with no results at all. ProStores is just a waste of money and more importantly your time.

We are selling on eBay and managing multiple products on different website is really a headache so i have many expectation with pro-store compared to amazon web-store but i am not very happy as a eBay seller
Positive Points :-
Google optimization is far better then amazon , facebook/tweeter integration really makes a difference , I have received around 5 click on the very first day of opening a store so i guess product ranking or indexing is quite good then others.
Very good shipping integration and have ability to accept payment from various providers includes paypal unlike the amazon where we have only one payment gateway.
Fast to setup -- i would say no headache in management of this store.
Negatives :-
the major point for the eBay seller is the description of the item BUT pro-store only support 65000 character in the description field !!!!! i think they should start working on this as 65000 character is not at all a good idea for the major sellers to restrict their description.
Integration will completely failed with eBay when you have custom built template for your eBay store. Most of the ebay seller including me , have a large ebay template with minimum 3 pictures of the product and various advertisement of our products and detailed description, but as i said before this will create a problem and doesnt fit in 65000 character limit and you will not be able to use this SO CALLED GREAT feature :(
I further noticed that even if integration problem will be solved by the pro-store then also there is a problem of getting actual data from eBay because there are so many links and other stuff which points to eBay so if any customer visit my store and click on HOME or any other button on template which will direct it to the eBay store not pro store !
i could have rate it 5 star but not at the moment
I sincerely hope that pro-store will rectify these major errors soon as only eBay seller will have a major benefit for this , i am waiting for the update

I have tried ProStores twice now, once when it first became available and the second time after the recent upgrade. I found the initial setup not to be very friendly or intuitive. They do have tutorials and manuals but plan to devote a lot of time just understanding the process. Once you get in the mind sense, then you are ok. They do have wizards but as with all wizards, they don’t always provide enough information for you before you check off something. Froogle integration never worked for me.
You can upload and export products. This part is very nice once you know how to use it. You can even create categories on the fly with import. You can export a tab file for you to use as a template. Cut and past your data into it and import it. You can FTP your images. Originally they required you to submit a large image and a thumbnail image but with the new version, it can create thumbnails from the large image. Nice improvement.
I am involved in selling through a fulfillment service. The biggest issue here is inventory level being maintained accurately. In order to do this, you have to manually update your inventory levels or export your data to a text file, delete all products in your store, update your text file with the new inventory levels and then import it back creating basically new inventory. Do this on a daily basis and you will have current inventory levels. If there is another way, I was unable to find it. Takes too much time too much room for error. eBay integration is easy. Visitors can see your auction on your website & it is easy post your items to eBay. I use calculated shipping. Unfortunately, there is no way for the looker to calculate the S&H because the eBay calculator is not available nor can you add it manually. The shipping calculator at ProStore is only available after the auction has ended and the buyer is directed to the store to pay. Like eBay, they have a “final value” fee.
